A magical place, almost untouched by time, the Municipality of Stylida occupies the northeastern part of the prefecture of Fthiotida and extends along the Maliac Gulf.

In its 463.9 km2 of total area, the scattered churches and chapels of historical value, the virgin but also busy beaches, the beautiful natural beauties and a pristine mountainous area, are reference points for the Kallikratiko Municipality of Stylida.

About half a km from the natural bay of the Maliac Gulf and in the location of the ancient city of Falara, built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mount Othrys (known for its many paths), is Stylida, the largest commercial port of the prefecture of Fthiotida and the seat of the Municipality of Stylida.

In Stylida, the inhabitants are mainly engaged in olive cultivation, while there are many traditional fishermen with their boats.

In the central square of the town, opposite the port, cafes and ouzeri – taverns give the visitor the opportunity for a little relaxation, while the adjacent “Park of the People” is a first-class place for recreation and sports activities.

About 3 km west of Stylida, there is the picturesque fishing village of Agia Marina, with the iron bridge over the harbour, the homonymous chapel and the fish taverns right on the sea front.

17 km northwest of Stylida, in the village of Longitsi, you will find the beautiful and famous stone bridge and the church of the Transfiguration of Savior with its unique architecture.
At a distance of about 4 km from the town of Stylida, at the foot of Mount Otris, is the Holy Monastery of Saint Vlasiou. The church was founded in 1746, is a post-Byzantine monument, and is dedicated to the Transfiguration of Christ, although it takes its name from the chapel dedicated to Saint Vlasios.
Northeast of Stylida, in the village of Neraida, you will find the Holy Monastery of the Holy Taxiarchs, built in 1750, in Byzantine style, with hagiographies from 1756. The monastery has been classified as a listed monument.
Near Neraida, the Holy Monastery of St. George was built in 1753, which from an architectural point of view is of the Athonite type, with domes in the nave and the narthex. It has a chapel dedicated to St. Andrew of Crete, which dates back to the same year.

Then, the mountainous area of the municipality of Stylida is adorned with the green communities with the wonderful view of the Malian Gulf: the village of Anidro with its wonderful local products, Paleokerasia with the springs of Vela and Platana, which are of particular interest, and Spartia with the small monastery of Agia Paraskevi.

On the coast and after the beautiful beaches of Ai Giannis and Metamorphosis Sotiros, is the picturesque Karavomilos, famous for its fish taverns in its beautiful little harbour.

A few kilometres from the fishing village of Karavomylos is Achinos, built on the site of the ancient “Echinos”, with its castle and the Roman hero. Echinos or Echinoundas was a city of the Phthiotes – Achaeans and the capital of the kingdom of Achilles and Myrmidons.

Then you will meet Raches, built probably in the same area as the ancient city of Alopi, with its cosmopolitan beach (Beach of Raches), ideal for fun and water sports. Especially the beach of Faros, a little further west, is a surfers’ paradise. The winds blow there almost constantly, making it a top destination for windsurfing and especially kite surfing enthusiasts.

Raches is followed by the beautiful coastal village of Achladi, with its calm sea and taverns with fresh fish. On the beach of Achladi, where the river Almyropotamos flows into the sea, there is a wetland.

The route continues through olive trees to the beach of Pelasgia with its calm waters, the wetland of Souvala and a little further on to the beach of Ai Giorgis with its tamarisk trees.
Northeast of Pelasgia, with its stone-built houses and open squares, are the mountainous Mili, the “balcony of Maliacos” as it is called, with an incomparable view of the Maliac Gulf. In Mili, the historic Monastery of Agios Georgios “steals” the impressions, with the date of its foundation being “lost” in medieval times.

A few kilometres from the beach of Pelasgia, is the enchanting bay of Vathikoilos, with a beach of particular beauty and ecological importance, where seals and dolphins find shelter.

This beautiful bay leads to the picturesque Glyfa, the easternmost boundary of the municipality of Stylida, with its sheltered beaches, crystal clear sea and rocky shores. The port of Glyfa connects Fthiotida with Agiokampos in Evia by ferry, while there is also a ferry connection with the Sporades.
